Keagan and Riley

The girls finally have names! Here is the latest:

Baby A (Lenni) is now Keagan
Yesterday she had a small heart surgery. The artery between the heart and lungs that normally closes automatically at birth, was still open. A clamp was placed on this artery to close it off. This is actually a common procedure in premies. Now her heart and lungs don't have to work as hard as they had been. The doctors took out her breathing tube yesterday because they thought the leak in her lung had healed, but by evening, they could tell that the leak was still there and the breathing tube was reinserted.

Baby B (Ninja) is now Riley
She has a broken leg. The nurses noticed that one leg was slightly swollen and so an xray was taken. She now has on the world's tiniest cast.

Emily will be discharged today. She is happy to be able to sleep in her own bed, but she is very sad to leave her girls behind.

So cute(but sad)! That IS the world's tiniest cast! Did her leg break at birth? Well, we are glad to read that they have such cute name and that hospital food is no longer a part of the equation (at least 3 meals a day). Our daughter had a patent ductus surgery too! We hope things are going well, I just can't send enough love to your precious little family of four! How far is your drive to and from the hospital?

OK, so I am SO happy I finally know what the crud is going on. Our internet is gone gone gone, and we have been so worried sick about you guys. (Literally, I have been having nightmares not knowing.) But things seem to be looking good? I love the names! They are SO perfect for such perect little beings. Just looking at them now, it might seem unreal that one day they will be full grown adults! We love you guys! Our prayers will be for your quick recovery and the girls' quick progression. Tey are beautiful!
