The Windy City and Lone Star State!

Okay our trip was amazing! We had SO much fun it is ridiculous!

It was ALMOST perfect but unfortunately we had two big disappointments! The first is that my sister in law Kari's grandma passed away so her and my brother Kirk weren't able to come. Kirk is definitely the life of the party so we missed them ALOT! Also, after pulling alot of strings my brother actually got tickets to Oprah BUT they were for the wrong day! Through the chain of people getting the tickets for us, the day got a little mixed up and we had to miss out on the queen of day time. That being said, we still had a SERIOUSLY great time! I have to give a BIG thank you to Tyler and Vicki for planning such a fun 4 days and letting us invade their beautiful home!

We did all of the fun stuff planned and had the chance to just hang out and really celebrate my mom's big day! We ate amazing food for every meal! I think we all gained 10 pounds! We went to Wicked which is now my favorite Broadway show, we went on an awesome tour of the Museum of Science and Industry (which we were surprised we loved so much). We had a private gourmet cooking lesson, and of course shopped Michigan Avenue. We had a great time together and did I mention we ate some serious tastiness!

By the time I got to Texas I was exhausted and actually got a chance to just hang out and relax. My Texas highlights were of course seeing my nieces, shopping for a new car for my mom's birthday, and having the best pedicure ever with my mom and sister!

I am SO thankful for my amazing family and after a long year I realize how priceless our families truly are! Of course I loved all the fun things we did but just being together was definitely the best part!

It looks like you guys had a fabulous time - I am so glad you posted so many pictures - I could pretend I was there eating with you!
Of course I want to be granted admittance to the private blog - do you think the queen will go private too?

It sounds like you had so much fun. Too bad about Kirk and Kari, they are FUN! We loved WICKED too. It's so good. Glad you were able to hang with your family and celebrate your moms bday :)

Emily,

It sounds like you had a BLAST. I wish you could do that once a month. You certainly deserve it. I guess after Travis makes his 100th million being the best financial adviser on the planet, you can take your own jet to see your family (and of course, ME!) And, I think that I have been Emilynized...cause I can't get the word "tasty" out of my vocabulary. I'll have to find a new way to get "tasteyness" in there, too. I miss you!
