First of all, we want to thank all of you for your amazingly supportive comments on our last post! We were overwhelmed with all the nice things all of you had to say! Its so great to have such wonderful family and friends!
Also I wanted to respond to a question that I should have mentioned in the last post. Our twins are fraternal- not identical. Their daddy is really hoping we hit the jackpot with one of each- a boy and a girl. I truly don't care what they are! I will take whatever the Lord is sending. We find out just what color to decorate the nursery in another 3 to 4 weeks.
Now for the supper fun news of the week....
This is a picture of our bed. I LOVE this bed! It is by far my favorite piece of furniture. It was the first piece that Travis and I bought together and it is just so ridiculously comfy! BUT it is not so comfy that I want to stay in it all day!!! And unfortunately that is just what my future holds.
We had a pretty frightening scare on Monday night. My VERY quickly growing twin placenta ruptured a blood vessel. I know you have never heard of such a thing. Leave it up to me to have the freakish thing happen! The burst blood vessel led to ALOT of blood loss, a REALLY not fun emergency room visit, and the dreaded two week bed rest!!!
So here I sit (or on the couch) trying to occupy my self by stalking all of your blogs, doing research on twin strollers and the crazy idea of breast feeding two babies at once, and watching re-runs of any reality tv show that is on during the day- which is nothing good even for my low tv standards!
So even though its totally worth it for the two smallest loves of my life, I will be a little bored for the next two weeks. So keep the blog posts coming and let me know if you have any suggestions to make the time fly in this comfy bed of mine.

Em -- I'm so glad everything is ok! Hey, hang in there...the bed rest will be over before ya know it! But I'm sure you will still have to take it easy after the 2 weeks are up. If you want some cool stuff to read, check out segullah.com -- very cool! As for other ideas? Well... reading is always one of my favorite things to do, so here are a few books I'd recommend:
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card
anything by Jane Austen! (My personal favorites are Pride & Prejudice and Persuasion)
Ok, that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
If you guys never watched Arrested Development, I HIGHLY recommend it! YOu will laugh yourself silly. :)
I'll try to keep posting stuff on my blog...I've been a slacker lately!
Love ya! Sorry for such a long comment!
Emily I will second the recomendation of Arrested Development, it is soooo funny. Brian and I laughing out loud. and you could always watch office re-runs.
One book I think is funny when you are pregnant is Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy. She is blunt but I can appreciate that.
I know all will be well so just enjoy this time doing nothing because in about 5 mons. that won't be a problem!
I love you tons!!!!!
can i come take care of u while u are on bed rest? do your grocery shopping? i also thinking.. maybe a more comfortable bed would be one on the beach?
glad everything turned out ok. sorry to hear about bed rest. i would recommend some movies but we hardly ever watch movies so i wouldn't know which ones are good. :) also, i have read the book thief and thought it was great one. you should join goodreads and find some great books through there. that is what i do. if you do join, add me as your friend! good luck! hope time passes quickly for you! and eat that great food there!! i can't wait to come and eat all my favorites. yummm....

Ok..this is kinda out there. I am not a handiwork kinda girl an any way. But when I was on bedrest with Cater, I found a cute cross-stitch patterny thing. It was a frog with a crown on it and it said, "I could be a prince" If anyone looked too close, they would see that I am not a sew-ery type of person. But it still hangs in his room and when I see it, I often tear up at the memories of sitting in a miserable studio apartment with high blood pressure and a miserable condition called pups, waiting for my long anticipated little boy to arrive. Working on something for him seemed to make the time go a little faster. As soon as he was born I got it framed really nice.
I'm so glad that you are better. I think of you all the time.

Emily I'm so glad that everything is ok! I used to have a job that when it was busy it was very busy and when it was slow it was really slow. So, in the slow times I got really good at free cell, suduko, harry potter series, work and the glory series, and even some scrapbooking. Speaking of scrapbooking I know that you're probally an expert at it, but just reacently Ive gotten obsessed with learning all about digital scrapbooking and will work on it for hours and hours with out even realizing how long I've been on the computer.
I love you girl and I wish that I could help you some how.
I'm so glad everything is okay! And that you're able to enjoy the trashiness that is daytime TV! Just keep the netflix coming and make sure Travis makes you macaroni and hot dogs in chicken broth. It's good for babies.
I know. Us eating tasty food and watching trashy television. I'm thinking real world marathon or perhaps 7th heaven?
I'm sorry to hear you're on bed rest. But, it sure sounds like you're keeping yourself entertained. Hey, you know what has me hooked this summer? All the dance shows ... don't know if you're that into them. "So you think you can dance?", "America's best dance crew 2." Oh and one that I absolutely love, "Jon and Kate Plus Eight" on TLC. That show makes me hopeful in raising my child. Love it, they're such a great family. Well, what shows are you into? I know, I should read books more often. Oh well! Love you!
I am so glad that everything is ok! Good ole' bed rest...it's never fun laying around and not being able to do anything when you have to. Hang in there, there has to be some kind of trashy TV to spark your intrest and make the time go by. I wish you the best and keep us posted.
At least everything is okay. Coming from an exhausted mother of a newborn, ENJOY your bed rest while you can. Get all the sleep you can because you'll miss it when the twins come. Catch up on the books you've wanted to read. Of course there's fictional reading, but reading the parenting books helped me like "what to expect when you're expecting" and "what to expect the first year". I wish you could pass some sleep time over to me =).
Coloring books and crayons! Or start digital scrapbooking (since you're good at that stuff).
Yay!!! Emily and Travis!!!!! This is such fun news! Congratulations! It's taken me THIS long to finally tap into your blog and what a fun surprise!!!! I love the time tracker with the two babies bouncing into each others space. You'll be feeling boxing matches going on inside soon! I can't wait to hear more!
Glad things are going well! Bring on more of those Ginn/Kikuchis!
oh no...keep up the spirits...i'd love to HAVE to see and just be on the computer all day:)
Emily, buy me a ticket I will keep you company!!!!! ha ha ha Just Kidding! I'm so happy for you, not about the bed rest but about everything else! When I was on bed rest I did a lot of reading. Baby Books mostly, but a couple novels too. Online shopping is ALWAYS good. I recommend some of my favorite sites. (see blog for details) Telephone calls, catching up with old friends is THE BEST IDEA!!!! Let me be the first in line....4053213279! h a ha I love ya you Hawaiian twin carrying machine!!
