Catch Up

Okay I know this isn't any news to my family and friends, but sometimes I am a slacker. And I have been a slacker about our blog. I haven't posted in over 2 weeks so I have to play catch up- something that I became very good at while at BYU. But actually I am really not sure if anyone but my mom checks this thing. I think the cluster map to the right of this post is lying that we actually have that many people who care what we are up to. If it isn't lying I would love to know who all of you are! You don't have to be another blogger to leave a comment, and I would love to know if you stopped by! Especially if you are in a location that I can't figure out who you are- which is actually anywhere but Houston, Utah, Denver, Chicago, New York, Arizona, California, or Hawaii.

So anyway, back to catch up. Over the last two weeks we have been busy with mostly the usual things, and some not so usual. I have posted pics of some of the not so usual as I'm not quite sure you would care about a picture of me cleaning and doing laundry, or Travis making dinner.

This is us at Punahou Carnival. For all of you non Hawaiians this 2 day carnival at a private school here is a big deal- especially in Travis's family. Since we don't have any amusement parks, fairs and carnivals are the states only comparable entertainment. Punahou school puts on a really fun Carnival every February for the Juniors to raise money for their senior year- and they raise ALOT of money. The rides are all the same because there is only one ride company in the state, but they are still very fun. Travis and I are still trying so hard (maybe too hard) to be young and love all of the rides- especially the ones that go upside down. But the food probably tops the rides. Who can say no to Gyros, Teri Cheeseburgers, Portuguese Bean Soup, and Malasadas! Supper tasty!! But you have to eat carrots and cabbage for the rest of the week to recover!

Travis's brother Brandon and his wife Kim had a Supper Bowl party. I was making cupcakes to take and Travis wanted to be adventurous. So, he made a football field cupcake cake. It turned out really cute. My big contribution was the goal posts!
This is us with Grandma at Travis's favorite Chinese restaurant. We took her out to dinner to help her celebrate her 83rd birthday and Chinese New Year. We had a really good time with just the 3 of us.
I think I may have mentioned before that Trav is a BIG traditions person. When we were just dating at BYU many years ago (and unfortunately many pounds ago), he got me a heart shaped pizza for Valentines day. Almost every year since then he has continued the tradition. This year the heart shape wasn't as apparent, but it was just as adorable when he showed up at my work with it for lunch!
He also brought along this adorable cup cake with the pizza (as well as my favorite salad from Bucca di Peppo). I know I already posted a cupcake pic in the same post- but I had to post this one because it was not only adorable in its little box, it was supper tasty.

So that's pretty much it. Besides that we have been working, watching whatever is on our TiVo, and golfing and scrap booking when we can.

Okay I know the post was not very exciting (sorry I made you read the whole thing) but try and muster up a comment to leave because I really want to know who you are! If you know me, you know I'm nosey and it's killing me! Thanks!

Travis & Emily,

The red dot on the map in North Carolina is me - Jed - from the good ol' BYU days (one of Travis' former roommates). Can you believe it has been 7 years since I left Utah to go back east? Emily, since you are so nosy, you may want to check out our website and blog at www.sprungyoung.com/blog.htm . I am glad to see you two are still enjoying life and each other despite your recent tough times. Best of luck in starting your family. We went through some similar circumstances before having a beautiful baby girl. Believe me, all of the pain you have experienced will be paid back 1000 times in joy when you first lay eyes on your first baby girl or boy.

I LOVE KEEPING UP WITH THE GOINGS ON IN YOUR LIVES! I am, in fact, a Kikuchi Blog Stalker, and will continue to be until this thing falls off of the internet.

Love YA!
