It's a tough job- but somebody's got to do it!

Lately I have had several of you ask what it is that I actually do. Well, I am lucky enough to be a designer for the local scrapbook company Creative Native Crafts. This is by far the best job that I have ever had-and is literally an answer to Trav and I's prayers! It's even better than when I worked for my dad the summer before my senior year in high school and took naps in his office! And even better than being a head server at Tucanos in Provo and being able to give Travis and all my friends free food!

Not only do I have amazing bosses and co-workers (Bella Finau-Faumuina, Delia Parker-Ulima, Jared Inouye, and Candice Hironaka for those of you who may know them) but people, I get to SCRAPBOOK most days! I work 3 and a half days a week and teach classes, do demonstrations, make our marketing materials, do product development, and on Thursdays I go to the Outrigger Waikiki and scrapbook with their guest for 2 hours. Oh and did I mention SCRAPBOOK! I am actually not that great, I'm just an average scrapbooker, but I feel SO blessed to do something that I LOVE!

We also do custom wedding invitations so we recently had a wedding event that you may have seen on several news stations if you are here in Hawaii. We partnered with Hawaiian Moon Clothing and turned their designs into invitations and paper! It is a very cool idea since many brides and grooms pick Hawaiian Moon clothing for their big day! I was in charge of taking the Hawaiian Moon Advertising photos and scrapping them with our new paper. The designs were supposed to be very simple and clean-more simple then I usually do. It was a really fun project and even more fun that they were on the news! Here's some samples...sorry some are scanned a little bit crooked:

This was half of the class that I taught last month. It's my "Its all about Time" clock. It was a blast! What a job!

Emily, You lucky girl. I have never scrap-booked before. I buy stuff for it all the time, but have yet to start. It's on my to do list, like everything else.......paint the fireplace( we built over a year ago), clean out the garage, organize my holiday buckets, (So I'm not digging for Easter stuff mixed with Halloween stuff.), do my dishes (some of us can sleep with dishes in our sink,no longer than one meal old!), scrapbook, watch tv shows that everyone talk about, join Oprahs book club....just kidding!, etc. etc.
Love you, and have fun at your job.

P.S. Already saw the picture of you on Lisa's blog. Good Stuff.

You guys do beautiful work! I'm so happy for you Em that you have a job that you absolutely love and that you're passionate about. Sounds like so much fun. Well...I don't know if you got my message earlier, but I sent you guys an invite to view our blog because we went private. I only had Trav's email so I sent it to him. Until next time, enjoy beautiful Hawaii for me! :)

emily...kay, i love to scrapbook. i started doing it up in utah with cameron's aunty. actually lately my scrapbooking consists of me buying paper, brads, ribbon, stickers, etc. and saying that im going to scrapbook. it never really happens cause you can't scrapbook without pictures :). i never end up printing my pictures (which i do have tons of). well, your job sounds like a blast. i'd love to do something fun like that.

I work at a Scrapping company too--but I will tell you about that another time, I'm sure a blog post is in order for the future...it's a little crazy.

Em-
I'm so glad you found me! I haven't even posted our Hawaiian vacation yet and one of the things I'm most sad about was that we never got a picture with you guys!! We'll have to go back sometime soon! We really enjoyed you two and I was so impressed with Travis! If only Jeff would be so kind to hold my purse! haha. Also, thanks for helping me fulfill my mission on finding my coin pearl earrings and pendant! I even wore them to church today! Keep in touch...I'm adding your link to mine. Tell Travis we want more of those what are they called? Fried Doughnut deals? Yummy!
